Talking about our upcoming musical lego/card game/toy/tool, Lassen’s Loop, we’ve been asked what the name means? Why “Lassen’s Loop”?
We are glad you asked that, because it means we get to talk about our old friend, Justin Lassen. Justin was a good friend to TNB Games, located as he was in Phoenix, Arizona, as TNB Games is too.
Justin was a terrific music composer and soundscape artist. He composed more than a few tracks that were pretty successful, had a great SoundCloud page, also did remixes for a lot of major artists (Madonna, The Killers, Avril Lavigne, etc) as well as scoring some video games, being an Intel Ambassador, while also creating many many patches for new synthesizers coming to market.
He was all about creating music, using samples, pushing the edges of what was possible musically. And we are confident that he would have been all over a game like Lassen’s Loop, which is all about bringing music composition to the masses, in an easy to handle manner.
Unfortunately, Justin was cut down in his prime, passing away in February 2021. We miss our friend.
We feel that naming our game Lassen’s Loop is a nice way to honor his memory. We’ve been in close touch with his family to ensure they are comfortable with us doing this in his name, and they’ve been nothing but supportive.
This game is for you, Justin. Rest well old friend.
